The Nadan Union of England recognized football as a professional sport.

                            FIFA was founded in 1904. Currently, FIFA controls the two largest football competitions in the world, the World Cup and Olympic Football. In some countries it is also known as soccer. It manages the first World Cup football in 1930. Initially, the trophy awarded in the tournament was called the Jules Rimé Cup, but later another trophy was introduced as the FIFA World Cup.

                              Football is usually played for 90 minutes. Both teams can compete with 11 members. A football player can touch the football with any part of his body except his hands and arms. There are four referees in the game. One referee runs around the field and conducts the game. Football is popular in India but has not achieved much success internationally.
