অসমৰ পৰম্পৰাগত খেল-ধেমালি-- সমগ্ৰ পৃথিৱীৰ সকলো মানুহৰ মাজত থকা আমোদ-প্ৰমোদৰ অনুস্থানেই হ'ল খেল-ধেমালি।অসমৰ সকলো জাতি-জনগোষ্ঠীৰে বিভিন্ন ধৰণৰ খেল-ধেমালি আছে।অসমত প্ৰচলিত কিছুমান খেল-ধেমালি হ'ল-ম'হ যুঁজ,কণী যুঁজ,ৰছী টনা,কুকুৰা যুঁজ,কড়ি খেল ইত্যাদি।

               বিভিন্ন খেল-ধেমালিবোৰৰ বিষয়ে বৰ্ণনা কৰা হ'ল-

(১)বুলবুলি চৰাইৰ যুঁজ--জনশ্ৰুতি মতে এবাৰ এজন ৰজাই হাজোৰ হয়গ্ৰীৱ মন্দিৰ দৰ্শন কৰিবলৈ আহোঁতে এযোৰ বুলবুলি চৰাইৰ যুঁজ দেখিছিল আৰু অতি মুগ্ধ হৈ পৰিছিল।তেতিয়াৰে পৰা এই খেলবিধৰ প্ৰচলন হয় আৰু বৰ্তমান সময়তো মাঘ বিহুৰ দিনা মন্দিৰৰ প্ৰাংগণত এই খেল অনুষ্ঠিত কৰা হয়।

(২)কণী যুঁজ--কণী যুঁজ অসমৰ সকলো লোকৰে এটি প্ৰিয় খেল।অসমৰ সকলো ঠাইতে এই খেল অতি জনপ্ৰিয় দেখা পোৱা যায়।ব'হাগ বিহুৰ দোমাহী দিনা সাধাৰণতে এই খেল খেলে।কিন্তু বৰ্তমান সময়ত প্ৰায়বোৰ অনুস্থানতে আৰু মাঘ বিহুতো কোনো কোনো অঞ্চলত কণী যুঁজ খেলা দেখা যায়।

(৩)ৰছী টনা খেল--ৰছী টনা খেলটো অসমৰ আটাইতকৈ জনপ্ৰিয় খেল।এই খেলবিধ মাঘ আৰু ব'হাগ বিহুত খেলা হয়।ইয়াৰ উপৰি স্কুল-কলেজসমূহত ক্ৰীড়া সপ্তাহবোৰত এই খেল অনুষ্ঠিত কৰা হয়।

(৪)হৈ-গুদু খেল বা কাবাডী খেল--এই খেলবিধ অসমৰ গ্ৰামাঞ্চলৰ শিশুসকলৰ মাজত অধিক জনপ্ৰিয়।এই খেলবিধত দূটা দল থাকে।সাম্প্ৰতিক  সময়ত এই খেলবিধ আন্তৰাষ্ট্ৰীয় ক্ষেত্ৰত খেলা হয়।ৰাষ্ট্ৰসমূহৰ পৰা বিভিন্ন দল সৎগঠনে ইয়াত অংশগ্ৰহণ কৰে।

(৫)কড়ি খেল--কড়ি খেল অসমৰ এবিধ পৰম্পৰাগত গ্ৰামীণ খেল।অসমৰ লোকসকলে পৰম্পৰাগতভাৱে ব'হাগ বিহুৰ সময়ত এই খেলবিধ খেলিছিল।কড়ি খেল হৈছে একক বা দলীয় ভাৱে দুজনৰ পৰা দহজনলৈকে খেলিব পৰা একপ্ৰকাৰৰ প্ৰতিযোগিতামূলক খেল।এই খেলত পুৰুষ-মহিলা উভয়ে অংশগ্ৰহণ কৰিব পাৰে।কোনো কোনো অঞ্চলত ৰঙালী বিহুৰ সময়ত এই খেল এতিয়াও জনপ্ৰিয়।কড়ি খেল ধৰ্মীয় কৃত্যৰ লগত জড়িত আৰু প্ৰজননৰ প্ৰতীক হিচাপে অসমীয়া সমাজৰ মাজত প্ৰচলিত।পুৰণি কালত সমাজ ব্যৱস্থাত কড়িৰ ওপৰত ধৰ্মীয় গুণ আৰোপ কৰা হৈছিল।টাই আহোমসকলৰ খেলসমূহৰ মাজত আটাইতকৈ জনপ্ৰিয় খেল আছিল কড়ি।

(৬)ঘিলা খেল--এই খেলবিধ পুৰণি কালৰ এবিধ অতি জনপ্ৰিয় খেল আছিল।এতিয়া এই খেল অসমৰ সকলো অঞ্চলতে নাই যদিও কোনো কোনো অঞ্চলত এই খেলবিধৰ প্ৰচলন আজিও দেখা পোৱা যায়।

(৭)ম'হ যুঁজ--ম'হ যুঁজ আহোম যুগৰে পৰা প্ৰচলিত অতি জনপ্ৰিয় এবিধ খেল।উজনি অসমত এই খেলবিধ প্ৰায় দেখা পোৱা নাযায় যদিও নামনি অসমৰ প্ৰায়বোৰ অঞ্চলতে এই খেলবিধ দেখা পোৱা যায়।নামনি অসমত মাঘ বিহুৰ সময়ত এই খেলবিধ অনুষ্ঠিত কৰা হয়।

(৮)কুকুৰা যুঁজ--এই খেলবিধ সাধাৰণতে দুটা দলৰ মাজত খেলা দেখা যায়।দুই দলৰ একো একোজন খেলুৱৈয়ে বাওঁ হাত সোঁ কান্ধত থৈ সোঁ হাতেৰে সোঁ ভৰি দাঙি ইজনে সিজনক খুন্দা মাৰে আৰু এইদৰে খুন্দিয়া খুন্দি লাগি থাকে যেতিয়ালৈকে কোনো এজনৰ হাত সুলকি নপৰে বা বাগৰি নপৰে।যিজনৰ প্ৰথমেই হাত সুলকি পৰিব সেইজনেই প্ৰথমতে হাৰিল বুলি ধৰা হয় আৰু আনজন জিকিল বুলি ধৰা হয়।

                   এই খেলসমূহ সময়ৰ লগে লগে নোহোৱা হৈ গৈছে।খুওব কম সংখ্যক অঞ্চলতহে এই খেলবোৰ দেখা পোৱা যায়।

                ইয়াৰোপৰি অান আন কিছুমান খেল হ'ল--ফুটবল,ভলীবল,ক্ৰিকেট,বেডমিণ্টন,টেবুল টেনিছ আদি।এই খেলসমূহ পৃথিৱীৰ সকলো অঞ্চলৰ মাজতে প্ৰচলিত হয়।

There are many different types of games and sports in Assam. Some of the most popular games in Assam are bullfighting ,egg fight,tug of war,chicken fight,coin game etc.

                The various games are described below:

1. Butterfly Fighting--Legend has it that once a king visited the Hoygriva temple in Hajo and saw a pair of butterfly fighting and was very fascinated.

2. Egg fighting--Egg fighting is a popular game in all parts of Assam. It is usually played on the second day of Bohag Bihu They are seen fighting.

3. Rope pulling--Rope pulling is the most popular sport in Assam. It is played during Magh and Bohag Bihu. It is also held during sports weeks in schools and colleges.

4. Hai-Gudu Khel or Kabaddi--This game is more popular among the children in rural areas of Assam. There are two teams in this game. Nowadays this game is played internationally.

5. Kari Khel--Kari Khel is a traditional rural game of Assam. The people of Assam traditionally played this game during Bohag Bihu. Kari Khel is a competitive game played by two to ten players individually or in teams. Both men and women participate in this game The game is still popular in some areas during Rangali Bihu. The game of coins is associated with religious rituals and is a symbol of fertility in the Assamese society .

6. Ghila Khel--This game was a very popular game in ancient times. Now this game is not available in all parts of Assam but it is still practiced in some parts of Assam.

7. Bullfighting--Bullfighting is a very popular game that has been played since the Ahom era. This game is almost not seen in South Assam but it is seen in most parts of South Assam Yes.

8. Chicken fighting--This game is usually played between two teams. Each player of both teams puts his left hand on his right shoulder and raises his right foot with his right hand and hits each other The first person to loose his hand is considered to lose first and the other person is considered to win.

                    These games have disappeared over time. These games are found in very few areas.

                 Other sports include football, volleyball, cricket, badminton, table tennis, etc. These sports are played in all parts of the world.
