মহোহো উৎসৱ বা মহ -খেদা উৎসৱ নামনি অসমৰ কামৰূপ জিলাৰ অতি জনপ্রিয় উৎসৱ। এই উৎসৱ সম্পূৰ্ণৰূপে লোক-চৰিত্ৰৰ। এই উৎসৱত মানুহৰ চৰম শত্ৰু মহ খেদাবৰ বাবে সমূহ ৰাইজ সংঘবদ্ধ হৈ নৃত্য কৰে। অসমীয়া ভাষাৰ "মহ "আৰু বড়ো ভাষাৰ " হো" শব্দৰ মিশ্ৰিত শব্দ হৈছে "মহহো"। এই উৎসৱ নামনি অসমৰ কামৰূপ, নলবাৰী, বৰপেটা, গোৱালপাৰা, দৰং আৰু বাক্সা জিলাত অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
এই উৎসৱ আঘোণ মাহৰ পূৰ্ণিমা ৰাতি পালন কৰা হয় অপায়-অমঙ্গলৰ প্ৰতীক স্বৰূপ মহবোৰক খেদাবৰ বাবে গৃহস্থৰ চোঁতালে চোঁতালে ডেকা বুঢ়া সকলে মহ খেদা গীত গায়। মহ-খেদা গীত প্ৰকৃততে অপায় -অমঙ্গল দূৰ কৰি লখিমী আদৰাৰ অনুষ্ঠান হে। মহ খেদা গীত হ'ল -

মহ-খেদা উৎসৱৰ দিনা মহ-খেদোৱাসকল আহি গৃহস্থৰ চোঁতালত ঘূৰণীয়াকৈ থিয় হয়। এজনে হাতত থকা টোকোনডাল মাটিত হেলনীয়া কৰি দিয়ে। বাকী সকলে টোকোনডালত কোবাই কোবাই গীত জুলে। টোকোনডাল কোবোৱাসকলৰ এজনে গীত জুৰে আৰু বাকীসকলে গায়। টোকোনডালৰ কোবৰ তালে তালে ঘূৰি ঘূৰি গোৱা এই গীতে মানুক আমোদ দিয়ে। কোনো কোনো স্থানত মহ -খেদোৱা টোকোন ধৰা এজনক বহুৱা -নটুৱা হিচাপে সজাই পৰাই লয়। এই জনক 'ভাল -ভালুকা 'বোলে। এই 'ভাল-ভলুকা'ক মুৰত বাঁহৰ চোঁচনি আৰু গাত দীঘল শিয়াল নেজা বন বান্ধি দি ভালুক ৰূপত সজোৱা হয়। ভাল ভলুকাই অঙ্গী -ভঙ্গী কৰি নাচি মানুহক আনন্দ দিয়ে।
মহ -খেদা গীতেই বোলা হওক বা ভাল -ভলুকাৰ গীতেই বোলা হওক এই মহোহো উৎসৱ মূলতঃ আঘোণৰ লখিমী আদৰাৰ উৎসৱ। মহোহো গীত আছে -

মহোহো গীত নাচ শেষ হ'লে মাননী দি সেৱা কৰে। গৃহস্থক মহোহো গায়কৰ দলে অপাৰ আশীর্বাদ দিয়ে। মহোহো উৎসৱ টোকোন কোবোৱাৰ গৰখীয়াৰ উৎসৱ বুলি এটা প্ৰৱাদ আছে। যদিও কেৱল টোকোন কোবোৱাটোহে পৰম্পৰা -অন্য বাদ্য যন্ত্র বজোৱাত কিন্তু কোনো বাধা নাই। ঠায়ে ঠায়ে পেঁপা আদিও বজোৱা পৰিলক্ষিত হয়।
মহোহো আৰ্শীবাদ তেনেই পোনপটীয়া, সহজ সৰল। লুক ঢাকা নকৰাকৈ, কোনো বন্দনাৰ আড়ম্মৰ নকৰাকৈ সাধাৰণতে গোৱা হয়।

এই আৰ্শীবাদৰ অনুষ্ঠানৰ লগত উজনি অসমৰ হুঁচৰি তুলনা পোনপটীয়াভাবে নহয় যদিও তথাপিও গৃহস্থৰ কামনা কৰা লোক-উৎসৱ হিচাপে দুয়োটা উৎসৱৰে মিল আছে।

The Mahoho Festival or Mosquito-Chasing Festival is a very popular festival in Kamrup district of South Assam. This festival is entirely folk-character. This festival is celebrated by the people of the country. The word "mahho" is a mixture of the words "mah" in Assamese and "ho" in Boro. The festival is held in the districts of Kamrup, Nalbari, Barpeta, Goalpara, Darang and Baxa in southern Assam.
This festival is celebrated on the full moon night of the month of Aghon. Mosquito-chasing songs are actually a ceremony to welcome Lakshmi by removing evil -misfortune. The mosquito repellent song is -
"It's a bright night in the autumn
Give Lakhim a lamp
Put the rice in the barn
Keep the year man y'
On the day of the mosquito-chasing festival, the mosquito-chasers come and stand in a circle in the householder's yard. One tilts the stick in his hand to the ground. The rest of them beat the stick and sang songs. One of the drummers sings and the others sing. This song is sung to the beat of the drum. In some places, a person holding a mosquito repellent is dressed up as a dancer. This one is called 'Good -Bear' The 'Bhal-Bhuluka' is dressed up as a bear with a bamboo stick on his head and a long fox neja forest on his body. A good vulture dances with gestures and makes people happy.
Whether it is called a mosquito-chasing song or a good-looking song, the Mohoho festival is mainly a festival to welcome the goddess of fortune in the month of Aghon. There are also songs -

When the Mahoho song and dance are over, they pay a fee and serve. The host is blessed by a group of Mahoho singers. There is a legend that the Mahoho festival is the festival of the shepherds who beat the tokon. Although it is customary to play only the tokens, there is no restriction on playing other instruments. There are also tambourines played in places.
Mohoho blessings are straightforward, simple. It is usually sung without covering the look, without any worship.
